Customer Support FAQ

Q: What is Heirs to Olympia?
A: Heirs to Olympia is both a detailed medieval fantasy setting and a flexible game system that allows the game world to be approached from a variety of different angles. You can set up the game as a standard tabletop roleplaying game, as a miniatures skirmish game, or even as a LARP! The three different game types can also be combined to keep the game experience fresh and entertaining.

Q: What is a Larp?
A: "Larp" is an acronym, which stands for "live-action roleplaying game." Like in a tabletop RPG each player takes on the role of a character, but the play space is not limited to a table. Conversations and interactions are played out entirely in-character for a more immersive experience. Costuming and props are highly recommended.

Q: Will Larp combat use foam weaponry for its resolution?
A: No. While prop weapons are encouraged, combat resolution will be abstracted using the same mechanics used for the tabletop and miniatures games, although playing cards will be substituted for dice rolling.

Q: From what material will the Heirs to Olympia miniatures be made?
A: All our models are made from a lead-free pewter containing mostly tin.

Q: Will the Heirs to Olympia miniatures require assembly and/or painting?
A: Yes. All models will be supplied unpainted and unassembled. We believe that building and painting models is a fun and rewarding part of the hobby.

Q: What tools do I need to build and paint my miniatures?
A: To build your models, you will need, at a minimum, a tube of super glue. A hobby knife and a set of small files can also be helpful for cleaning up the miniature. To paint the models we recommend using a coat of black spray primer followed by water-based acrylic hobby or craft paints. You will also need a selection of medium-to-fine paintbrushes.

Q: Will I have to paint my miniatures to play with them?
A: No. Although they will look much cooler painted, you are free to begin fighting battles as soon as your models are assembled.

Q: What scale are the miniatures?
A: They are sculpted so that 6 feet = 35mm, which means most male figures are about 33mm to eye level while most female figures stand just over 30mm tall. Note that our models are actually smaller than many miniatures claiming to be 28mm.
